Yemen Bank of Reconstruction and Development (YBRD) is one of the leading banks in Yemen which is semi-owned by the Government. The Bank practices both Conventional and Islamic Banking and has been a customer of Temenos for Conventional Banking since 2007. YBRD wanted to be one of the first movers in the market to implement an Islamic Banking solution along with its Conventional Bank. The Islamic Banking project commenced in Sept 2013 and YBRD opened for public its Islamic Banking branches in Mar 2014. Implementation Partner selected was NdcTech, a regional partner for Temenos to carry out the Islamic implementation and provide the required expertise to the Bank in implementing the Islamic products envisioned on the Temenos platform.
