Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL) is the 10th licensed microfinance bank in Pakistan also providing Branchless Banking through the biggest Telecom operator in Pakistan Mobilink. It is solely owned by Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E (“Orascom Telecom”) & a sister concern of Mobilink (PMCL).
Challenges
With its vision to become a market leader in microfinance, branchless banking, and mobile financial services, Mobilink Microfinance Bank needed a scalable platform that would support its innovative and value-added services as well as growth and seamless convergence with the Mobile Wallet Platform. Being a startup, it was not feasible to invest large numbers in IT and required Flexibility in configuring products to comply to evolving Regulatory framework along with integration with partners.
Solution
NdcTech successfully signed and implemented Temenos Transact, a world renowned Core Banking Solution, enabling MMFB to open its complete Agent Network and provided integration to Partner Banks and the Mobile Wallet Platforms.
Benefits to the Bank
With the Temenos Transact Core Banking solution, Mobilink Microfinance Bank gained huge scalability options. The pre-configured Model Bank for Microfinance & Community Products allowed them to launch in a very short time. NdcTech enabled Mobile Financial Service(MFS) for Branchless Platform by integrating the third party Mobile Wallet Platform and MMFB was able to offer MFS and intelligence to a large Agent Network. Transact’s flexibility provided an agility to react to new market opportunities and respond to customers’ changing needs quickly.
